May 2023 Mothers day

We celebrated mothers day as part of our #socialcohesion and Afghan-Iranian women’s solidarity program. We celebrated motherhood with poems, dance, gifts, cake as well as talking about difficulties of being a mother in a traditional sense and cultural norms that pressure mothers. We had a wonderful activity where our two groups of women reflected on parental (maternal vs. paternal) rights in Iran, Afghanistan, and New Zealand.
